How Angelica Ross Lost Out a Marvel Role?

Amid the SAG-AFTRA and WGA strikes, American Horror Story star Angelica Ross is open about her FX contract.
Many actresses working today desire to join the Marvel Cinematic Universe. Still, American Horror Story star Angelica Ross was regrettably unable to accept a position in the MCU owing to a demanding seven-year contract she had signed with FX.
The 42-year-old actress and businesswoman Angelica Ross, who is also a successful actor, resorted to social media on Sunday to vent her dissatisfaction with the film industry and to discuss a wasted MCU chance.
Ross said in an Instagram post that her seven-year agreement with FX, which produced her programs Pose and American Horror Story, forbade her from working on other projects without the network’s consent.
Ross had attention from Marvel for an unnamed position but could not accept it because of her contract.
Though it hasn’t been verified, there is conjecture that the part in question was for Loki, a Disney Plus series from Marvel Studios, which three years ago was said to be planning to debut Sera, a warrior who is transgender, as the first transgender superhero in the Marvel Cinematic Universe.

Here is what Angelica Ross Said About Losing Her MCU Role.

Ross was allegedly vying for the part then, which would have been a significant and historic chance for the actress.
Ross joining the SAG-AFTRA strike picket line alongside many other actors and writers is understandable.
Those on strike want higher compensation, better-streaming residuals, and rules around using artificial intelligence to imitate performers.
Ross’ revelation supports 2020 rumors that were made about Loki season one. It was widely known then that Marvel was considering Tom Hiddleston for the part of Sera, the first transgender superhero in the MCU.
Ross, a transgender activist, and entrepreneur who serves as the CEO as well as the founder of TransTech Social Enterprises, was particularly hailed as the best candidate for the position. Ross herself even hinted about it via Twitter.
Given that Ross’ sequence of events lines up with her prospective Loki casting, we may assume that Marvel abandoned plans to debut Sera when Ross could not break free of her FX contract in time, which is why the character was absent from Loki’s first six episodes.
Disney Plus will debut a new season on October 5; therefore, Ross won’t be a part of it either. Ross’ inclusion would have provided a platform for additional trans tales to be told on film and an exploration of one of the trans characters from Marvel Comics.
Many trans characters, like Hydra Queen, Jessie Drake, and Koi Boy, deserve their moment on screen.
However, the Loki series was purportedly intended to debut the transgender character Sera into the MCU.
Sera, an Anchorite, a race of wingless angels, could transform magically into the lady she imagined herself to be with the aid of her future love interest, the Asgardian fighter Angela.
