The Captain Fall Trailer Reveals the Cast and Release Date.

The Captain Fall, described by its makers as “The Love Boat meets Ozark meets The Truman Show,” will release on Netflix in July.

Jon Iver Helgaker and Jonas Torgersen developed, wrote, and executive produced Captain Fall, an upcoming adult animated comedy series. They also co-created the program with Joel Trussell. Trussell is also an executive producer.

Captain Fall was initially presented as a live-action program, according to Helgaker and Torgersen, but Netflix decided it would be more suited to the animation format.

They recognized that transitioning from live-action to animation was difficult, and they thanked Netflix for surrounding them with a staff of cartoon professionals. And, based on the trailer, they’ve managed to keep the absurdist tone they established with Norsemen.

The Captain Fall trailer begins with an action set in which a group of kids is viciously beaten with Tasers, hinting at the show’s edgy humor.

The camera then pans to our hero, Jonathan Fall, who has just received the lowest marks ‘in the history of the naval academy.’ Jonathan described as a “wet-behind-the-ears, yet good-hearted” man, doesn’t seem disturbed by his poor grades, and it appears he’s used to being teased by his family.

He only gets a position because an evil cartel needs a fall person in charge. Jonathan drools in his slumber as his shipmates fight pirates and other militia, utterly unaware of the situation he’s gotten himself into. He even poses with crooks for obscene photographs. 

Meanwhile, the walls close on Jonathan from all sides as skilled investigators realize what the cartel is up to. The trailer concludes with Jonathan being decked by a kid soldier and exclaiming, “Wow, so strong!” with absolute amazement.

Captain Fall was initially announced in 2020, and the streamer ordered 20 episodes. Part 1 would consist of ten episodes, while Part 2 would include the remaining ten.

Captain Fall Part 1 will be available on Netflix in July 2023, consisting of the first ten episodes. However, it is uncertain when Part 2 will be released.

Captain Fall Part 1 is set to release on Netflix on Friday, July 28, 2023, at 12:00 a.m. PT/3:00 a.m. ET.
