Cruel Summer Season 2 Episode 2 Ending Explained.

Cruel Summer Season 2 Episode 2 was released on 5th June, and here is the thing you need to know about the episode. Is a friendship that burns this brilliantly necessarily doomed to burn out?

Cruel Summer has one bold feature in both seasons: the series decides to keep with its lead characters throughout the episodes, delivering practically no subplots for any of the supporting actors.

Furthermore, when these side characters receive some storylines, they often appear through the eyes of the protagonists, indicating that the show wants viewers to focus entirely on the duo of females it follows.

This is a courageous storytelling endeavor; however, like with Season 1, it causes some issues in Season 2.

Why did Isabella take the fall for Meghan?

The first episode of Cruel Summer Season 2 establishes a love triangle between best friends Meghan, Luke, and newcomer Isabella, and the second episode only confuses matters.

The s*x film that went viral was between boyfriend and girlfriend Meghan and Luke, not Isabella, as everyone in town believes.

Given Meghan’s response to both of the other parties after the premiere, it was first perplexing, but the only explanation is that Meghan was unhappy that the footage was released.

Isabella agrees to keep this a secret and to take the fall for Meghan so that her scholarship isn’t canceled, even if it means becoming the town harlot and the focus of everyone’s attention.

Who filmed the s*x tape?

Much of “Ride or Die” delves into who may have created the recording, and two options come up: Brent, Luke’s sleazy brother who has a habit of filming his girls, and Jeff, the peer group’s growing filmmaker.

It doesn’t take long for everyone to concentrate on Brent, tipped off by a past lover who accuses him of attempting it with her, and Isabella breaks into their house to trash their other VHS tapes.

She has no fear of consequences (she practically smashes a planter through their glass door), and they are the folks you don’t want to cross.

But, in this case, she appears correct: Brent admits to it when their father interrogates them both, but Luke subsequently claims that Brent doesn’t know it’s Meghan, despite being the one who recorded it.

It still needs to be clarified whether Brent is giving the whole truth, and we wouldn’t be shocked if he outs Meghan in the future.

Who killed Luke?

Isabella takes the blame for Meghan but also has feelings for Luke. Meghan is jealous as she makes a pass on him at a pool party in July 1999.

Isabella also discovers a pill bag in Meghan’s luggage, reappearing in 2000 when Luke’s body is autopsied.

There’s a lot to learn between then and December when Meghan and Luke meet, but it’s shaping up to be a narrative about the two women’s obsession.

Meghan asks Isabella to do something with her, and she refers to her as a ‘ride or dies’ before jumping off a cliff and into the water; in this episode, Isabella overhears Meghan repeating these titular words to Luke and seemingly goes to tell Meghan’s mum the truth about the s*x tape as retaliation.

The authorities found in 2000 that Luke was murdered before being dumped into the lake and that his corpse was not just riddled with gunshot holes but also with sleeping medications to guarantee he would not survive.

Isabella intends to leave town, but her intentions are thwarted when the police decide to question everyone about the mysterious murder, and it is found that Luke was last seen at a New Year’s party.

Cruel Summer gets a touch soapy in this tit-for-tat argument between Isabella and the sheriff, who has looked into her past and discovered that she’d attended three different schools in three years. However, it is still not clear who killed Luke.
