The Lazarus Project Ending Explained.

“The Lazarus Project” takes a fresh look at time travel. The Lazarus Project originally debuted on Sky Max in 2022, is a thrilling new sci-fi series by Joe Barton that combines high-stakes action with deep moral quandaries.

The titular organization is a group of agents traveling across time to prevent catastrophic events.

Although this has saved the world several times, it has also hardened its agents to the reality of loss – that is, until a new agent with a very personal motive for desiring an additional time loop finds himself tested by the restrictions of his new responsibilities.

The Lazarus Project: What is causing this time jump?

Three weeks to Hamburg, where George shot Shiv in his flat three weeks before the Checkpoint reset, Janet is present, along with this Zhang agent.

Shiv seems to halt Janet as she uncuffs herself, and the duo escapes. Shiv discovers a message from Janet that reads, “It’ll be worth the wait,” which explains the blood-soaked paper George found in Shiv’s jacket.

In the present, George gets called into the Lazarus Project when two Black Holes collide. This is what led to an explosion.

Unfortunately, this looks beyond their control, so they’ll have to endlessly repeat the same three weeks until they can find a solution.

George believes that a collapsing black hole is an act of someone causing it to happen here on Earth. Janet seems to be the only person smart enough to do anything like this, and if Zhang has her, it appears that the Chinese are involved somehow.

George rushes towards the door, asking Reggie, a paramedic, to come and rescue him. While Shiv’s life is in danger, Janet works alone to repair the machinery at the location where Zhang and Archie are trying to infiltrate, which is guarded by Chinese agents.

Zhang and Archie are working together to save her, but when they get to the room where she is being held… it is vacant.

Reggie brings Shiv back to England long enough for him to convince George that “Rebrov is the key.” Dennis Rebrov appears at the Lazarus Project shortly after this and explains what’s happening.

He tells Wes and the others about the codewords he’s been using with Janet all this time. In their coded language, “It’ll be worth the wait.” translates to “I’m in trouble, and I need your help.” “Come get me.”

Unfortunately, these issues with the Chinese are far more profound than we could imagine. Archie and Zhang are at the right place…but at a different moment.

Someone appears to have discovered how to break the checkpoints and return Janet. She was, in fact, in London in 2012.

And ironically, the message that Rebrov received on his phone at the show’s outset was from Janet. Rebrov boldly assures the Lazarus Project that they need his help to return Janet.

But if that wasn’t enough of a cliffhanger for you, Sarah appears in George’s apartment. Shiv sits up, Reggie is stunned, and George stares at her. She took the serum and is now a part of it.
