It’s time to step into dark fantasy anime once again! BASTARD!! -Heavy Metal Dark Fantasy Season 2 is packed with all sorts of dark genre material, from gore to s*xual violence, as the title suggests.
For some, seeing an anime with a dark theme may be distressing, but this anime is a must-see for strong-willed people who refuse to look the other way.
The anime’s first season, consisting of the first 13 episodes, released on Netflix globally in June 2022. On September 15, Netflix released Season 2, which included episodes 14-24.

What is season 2 of BASTARD!! -Heavy Metal Dark Fantasy about?
The anime is set in England. However, the names of the characters are close to Chinese. The story takes place in an area devastated by an apocalypse, where people live in constant danger from monsters such as goblins, orcs, vampires, and other mythological creatures, and the power that can save them is even more evil.
The anime’s foundation is based on the manga’s dark fantasy world, with an action-packed story focusing on Dark Schneider, a potent wizard who wakes after a 15-year slumber.
The story continues well beyond what is presented in the additional episodes; this storyline was the most popular in the manga. We also get to watch Dark Schneider and Kall-Su’s deadly encounter.
The additional episodes will cover volumes 8 through 12 of the manga, leading up to Hell’s Requiem.
