The Internet and people of France are divided on opinions over Depp’s presence at the prestigious event, and for the unversed, Jhonny was accused of verbal and physical abuse by his ex-wife Amber Heard, the trial for the case was dragged for several months and finally Depp won the issue and was declared not guilty.

However, a massive chunk of people around the globe still believe that Jhonny is equally responsible for whatever mishap took place between the ex couple, several feminist groups and actors in France have expressed their opinions and condemned Depp’s presence.

They are clearly not happy with the decision of inviting the actor, they have even boycotted the event. The event has received severe backlash especially in France and there have been cases lodged against Jeanne du Barry director Maïwenn.

Still, she has told media that Depp was casted before these allegations came up to media attention, and the trials began.

Nevertheless, the movie is promising and it will be interesting to see whether it will be released in the US or not.
