The Great Season 3 was released yesterday 12th May 2023, and here is the thing you might have missed in the series.

At the season’s conclusion, Catherine must decide whether to be deposed or find her fighting spirit and take the helm once more.

The delicately historical comedy-drama series focuses on Catherine the Great’s ascent to power following her marriage to Peter III in Russia. She finds herself immersed in a society with many ideas and traditions that she attempts to challenge.

The Great Season 3 put Catherine to the test of her fortitude and will. Even though she succeeded in gaining the throne and triumphed against Peter, she faced several challenges.

This season made Catherine change completely, forcing her to mature.

Archie realized he had no choice but to find a way to cooperate with Catherine when she was crowned the Empress.

He needed to be close to, watch over, and influence Catherine since he knew of her progressive tendencies and desire to exclude the Church from the picture.

He helps her understand the power the Church wields over people and why Catherine must adhere to it whenever she tries to stray from God and religion. One issue where Catherine and Archie disagree is the ordaining of Paul. 

Marial ultimately turns on him and tells Catherine everything, though. The Empress gives the order to beat Archie, deprive him of his post, and bury him alive out of rage.

However, she first has him sign a declaration to rally the Church behind her and reinforce her claim to the throne. She also asks him to sign a document that would set all serfs under the Church free and distribute the property the Church owns to them.

Because of this, she may release millions of serfs without consulting the nobility. She hoped that by conducting this study, she would be able to see in a controlled setting how the serfs would respond to their newfound freedom and would persuade the nobility to release their serfs. Archie is buried alive and would still be there if Maria hadn’t intervened. She lies to Catherine about his betrayal to further her status.

Although it benefits her, Marial never wants her cousin to pass away. After the guards go home, she digs the grave and is thrilled to discover Archie is still alive. He’s still alive.

Petrov rolls his corpse into Catherine’s office while Nikolai, an astronomer, discusses a comet headed their way. Then Petrov dares Nikolai to a fight. Catherine spends the night with the womanizer Nikolai, who had an affair with Petrov’s fiancée.

Elizabeth cuts them off and commands Catherine to focus on the issues. Catherine tells Elizabeth to go, but she controls the guards. Elizabeth warns Catherine to take control or take over on her own before leaving.

Hugo comes up with yet another strategy somewhere. He informs Georgina that she can become queen this time. She needs to wed Paul. When he was a year old, he married Agnes. Georgina calms Hugo with a cup of tea. In the woods, Georgina discovers Grigor with Paul.

Finally, Grigor’s anguish has resulted in a collapse. He is currently the one going astray. Grigor talks about his complicated feelings for Marial. Georgina speaks of her new strategy for taking over as Empress. Georgina is knocked unconscious while Grigor and Paul depart.
