Attack the Block (2011)-
Joe Cornish directed this British sci-fi comedy horror movie. The plot revolves around a team of courageous teenagers who embark upon a journey of battling an incursion of savage aliens.
Although their quest tends to get jeopardized by the invasive species in Southern London, they remain determined to bring success to their mission.
The film originally premiered at SXSW on March 12, 2011. It arrived on Paramount+ on 1st May this year.
Cat on a Hot Tin Roof (1958)-
Richard Brooks directed this American drama movie on the screenplay written by American screenwriter James Poe based on Tennessee Williams’ Pulitzer Prize winner same-named play of 1955.
British American actress Elizabeth Taylor portrayed Margaret Pollitt aka “Maggie the Cat” in the film.
Other cast members were Paul Newman, Burl Ives, Jack Carson, Judith Anderson, Madeleine Sherwood, Larry Gates, and Vaughn Taylor. It was released in the United States on August 27, 1958. ‘Cat on a Hot Tin Roof’, too, arrived on Paramount+ on 1st May.
Mean Girls (2004)-
Mark Waters directed this well-known and popular teen comedy movie. The plot centers around newcomer Cady who initiates a fake friendship with the school’s group of popular mean girls known as the Plastics, led by Regina and gets involved with them in many life-altering ways.
Lindsay Lohan portrayed Cady with Rachel McAdams as Regina in the movie. Other Plastics members were played by Lacey Chabert as Gretchen and Amanda Seyfried as Karen.
The movie was released in the United States on April 30, 2004, and is set to arrive on Paramount+ on 1st May this year.
Mission Impossible films (1996, 2000, 2006, 2011)-
The first four films of Tom Cruise’s Mission Impossible film series also arrived on Paramount+ on 1st May.
Based on Bruce Geller’s created same named tv series, this sitcom spy film series is primarily centered around an agent of IMF or Impossible Missions Force named Ethan Hunt. Tom Cruise portrayed the character of Ethan Hunt and made it familiar to everyone.
The first four films of the series ‘Mission: Impossible’, ‘Mission: Impossible 2‘, ‘Mission: Impossible III’, and ‘Mission: Impossible – Ghost Protocol’ have released on Paramount+ on 1st May this year.
The Crow (1994)-
Alex Proyas directed this superhero movie the plot of which revolves around a guitarist named Eric Draven who gets murdered along with his fianceé.
To avenge the cruelty that was cast upon them, Draven resurrects from death. The movie is adapted from the same-named comic book by James O’Barr.
American actor and martial artist Brandon Lee portrayed Eric Draven in the movie which served as both his breakthrough and final role as he died during the production of the film in a scene of shooting in which he was shot in reality due to negligence.
It is noted that his father- famous martial artist and actor Bruce Lee also died a similar death. The film was released on May 13, 1994, and arrived on Paramount+ on 1st May this year.
Titanic (1997)-
James Cameron’s this film featured one of the most epic romantic stories of all time as well as one of the most disastrous real incidents in human history.
Based on the reports and experiences about the sinking of RMS Titanic, the movie contains a fictional love story between two fictional characters- the aristocrat Rose and the poor artist Jake both of whom boarded the ship and witnessed its infamous sinking.
Kate Winslet and Leonardo DiCaprio established Rose and Jake as an immortal couple in the world as well as their brilliance as actors and actresses. The movie won fourteen Academy Award nominations with eleven wins.
It remains the fourth Highest Grossing Film in the world following ‘Avatar‘, ‘Avengers: Endgame‘, and ‘Avatar: The Way of Water‘.
The movie was released in the United States on December 19, 1997. It arrived on Paramount+ on 1st May this year.
True Lies (1994)-
This spy action comedy movie is also directed by Cameron. The plot revolves around a salesman leading a double life of a secret agent.
Arnold Schwarzenegger portrayed the protagonist Harry Tasker in the movie. It was released in the United States on July 15, 1994, and arrived on Paramount+ on 1st May this year.
While You Were Sleeping (1995)-
This romantic comedy movie centers upon the love story of Lucy played by Sandra Bullock and Jack played by Bill Pullman. It was originally released on April 21, 1995. The movie arrived on Paramount+ on 1st May.
Death’s Roulette (2023)-
This Spanish mystery drama thriller revolves around seven individuals discovering they are part of an evil game after waking up in a mansion. The movie is set to be released on May 5, 2023, and will be available on Paramount+ for streaming.
Three Thousand Years of Longing (2022)-
Idris Elba and Tilda Swinton starred in this fantasy romantic drama film that tells the story of a djinn recounting his experiences of his long existence to a professor who unleashed him.
It premiered at Cannes Film Festival on 20th May last year and will be available for streaming on Paramount+ from 16th May this year.
