Pedro Pascal and Bella Ramsey will be back for the Season 2 of HBO‘s The Last of Us, which is an adaptation of the popular video game series.
Although The Last of Us season 2 has been formally announced, it seems like a while before Joel and Ellie return to our screens.
The second part of this tale is far more expensive than the first, and season 1 of The Last of Us just finished. The Last of Us season 2 has been heavily teased by the show’s creators, Neil Druckmann and Craig Mazin, along with some release date hints from the cast.
The series features Pedro Pascal as Joel, a brutal survivor entrusted with escorting Ellie (played by Bella Ramsey) across the nation two decades after a fungus called cordyceps, resembling zombies, devastated most of society.
The two develop a surrogate father-daughter relationship as they travel to deliver Ellie, who is resistant to the sickness, to those preparing to utilize her to develop a cure while evading several threats, both human and non-human.
What will be covered in The Last of Us Season 2?
The Season 2 of the Last of Us TV series will confidently carry on the story from where the video game’s sequel left off.
The tale takes up with Joel and Ellie some years after the first game’s events, without giving away what is to come.
Along with resolving issues in their relationship, a significant event sends Ellie on a dangerous quest for retribution.

When is Season 2 of Last of Us expected to release?
Although Pascal hinted that filming for The Last of Us season 2 might start sooner rather than later, it has yet to begin. Therefore, it will likely happen at the end of 2024 or the beginning of 2025.

What Is the Cast of The Last of Us Season 2?
Pedro Pascal and Bella Ramsey intend to return because they were popular in season 1. Gabriel Luna has also suggested that he will be back in season 2 to portray Tommy as Joel, and Ellie also made their way back to Jackson after The Last of Us.
He’s married to Maria. Therefore it stands to reason that Rutina Wesley will also be there. In season 2, Mazin and Dreckmann will introduce some new and essential characters.
And tell many more stories in The Last of Us Part II. Finally, although Mazin acknowledged in a Collider interview that nothing had been resolved yet, it’s possible that Abby Dina could be up. However, it still needs to be determined who would portray her.
There is a potential that a few more voice actors from The Last of Us might make cameos in upcoming episodes as some of them, including Ashley Johnson, Troy Baker, Merle Dandridge, Jeffrey Pierce, and Laura Bailey, all made brief appearances in the live-action adaptation.
In addition, Patrick Fugit, who portrayed Edgar in The Last of Us 2, and Emily Swallow, who played Emily, expressed a wish to feature on the program but as a different character.
