A Girl and an Astronaut Ending Explained

The Polish Netflix original series A Girl and an Astronaut is a dull love triangle set against a sci-fi conspiracy, a great attempt to make an intriguing subject as unengaging as possible.

Unfortunately, the program, which sacrifices all of its most intriguing aspects in favor of a stale love narrative, is also unnecessarily complicated by a similar chronology device that divides the action between 2022 and 2052.

The basic premise is as follows: The three main protagonists, Marta, Niko, and Bogdan, are the main emphasis of both timelines.

The latter two, two very skilled Polish fighter pilots with a long-standing rivalry, soon find themselves vying for Marta’s love and participating in a space mission carried out by the Russian company SkyCom.

Niko is finally selected for the expedition, but something goes wrong, and it is reported that he has passed away.

Yet after disappearing for thirty years, he suddenly reappears, appearing to be no older, upsetting Marta and Bogdan’s marriage and raising some uncomfortable questions regarding his long-term absence.

Marta had decided to be with Niko before he left, but after he failed to return home as promised, she grew closer to Bogdan. It’s possible he told her that Niko had allegedly died in an explosion to win her for himself or to spare her the agony of never knowing his fate.

When Niko escapes from the SkyCom base and returns to Poland, he ruins both sides’ plans. He arrives at his own home and runs into Marta, who is still acclimating to the better technology of 2052.

Marta is astonished by her good fortune. He declares his love for the woman and embraces her age-related body without any reservations. Niko makes it very apparent that he wants to be with Marta and stay with her for the rest of his life.

On the other hand, Bogdan had long kept his heart condition a secret from his family even though he was also ill with it. Bogdan begs Marta to decide again between him and Niko now that Niko has returned.

Even though they frequently had to fight for favor and a job, Bogdan has always loved Niko, and he meets with his ex-colonel father to talk about Niko.

Wiktor had become frail and elderly, and the only one who had remained by his side was Katarina, to whom he had before refused to bestow any validation. Bogdan persuades Wiktor to enlist the assistance of the Polish army and take all necessary precautions to keep Niko safe from the Russians.

Niko and Marta spend tender evenings together while seeking refuge in a part of the nation without access to technology, but JJ eventually finds them. Nadia murders the man just before he is ready to murder Niko.

Even though her pursuit of Niko for his stem cells was now useless since they did not have the beneficiary qualities to cure her, Niko’s bond with Nadia in her childhood days does pay off, and she ensures that he stays alive. Niko no longer has to be afraid of anyone since JJ is dead and the Polish army is on his side.
