The physical resemblances show that Owen Wilson’s Carl Nargle is highly influenced by Bob Ross, as shown in the first-look photograph.

Fans will be aware that Ross initially rose to prominence as the host of the public television program The Joy of Painting.

Ross would calmly converse with viewers throughout each show as he worked through stunning paintings that he had begun from scratch. Ross presided over the program from 1983 until he died in 1994; because of the show’s streaming availability in subsequent years, he has continued to enjoy popularity.

Despite their numerous parallels, Ross and Carl Nargle will have some significant distinctions since the late painter resided in Florida rather than Vermont.

Wilson plays a figure who closely resembles Bob Ross in the first Paint teaser, right down to the big hair and soothing asides. However, Carl Nargle, a fictitious version of Ross, is the film’s subject.

The movie charts Nargle’s ascent to the top cable access painter in Vermont before he contends with a youthful challenger who threatens to usurp him.

Paint naturally has a ridiculous appearance. It shares a lot of Weird: The Al Yankovic Story’s absurd energy, but it’s a touch less frantic, as it befits the tranquil drawings of contented tiny trees. A

long with Wilson, the film also stars Michaela Watkins, Wendi McLendon-Covey, Ciara Renée, Lusia Strus, Stephen Root, and Lucy Freyer. Brit McAdams directs it. It is scheduled to premiere on April 7.
