The educational aspect of Two Point Campus is more familiar. You construct rooms such as lecture halls, science labs, and libraries and hire employees with the necessary skills – teachers, janitors, and campus assistants – to staff those rooms.
I needed teachers for Wizardry and Dark Arts classes and private tuition in the parody Hogwarts level, for example. Janitors keep the place clean, but they require maintenance and mechanical skills. To repair all of the strange machines, such as giant risotto pans and Bunsen burners.
Some simulation games involve serious logistical decisions about finance, resources, and logistics. Still, at Two Point Campus, you’ll be boosting student morale by installing a plastic whale fountain in the front yard of your esteemed institution.
Of course, this is a very silly game with a skewed view of higher education, but Two Point always tries to weave in just enough strategic decision-making to give this farce some teeth.
How does Two Point Campus differ from Two Point Hospital?
Two Point Campus differs from Two Point Hospital primarily because the people who enter your establishment are important. Therefore, each student’s personality must be kept happy to complete the year.
Of course, you’ll need staff: teachers, assistants, and janitors will patrol the campus to ensure everything runs smoothly.
To some extent, I can brag that I managed the budget competently enough that I never had to go without staff; however, at the start, it was fun trying to develop a team that would work and provides the students with everything they required.
How to play?
However, the good news is that Two Point Campus is not a clone of Two Point Hospital or Theme Hospital. It takes place in the same country and employs many of the same systems as the original. However, designing and managing a university has requirements different from the original treatment cycle.
Instead, Two Point Campus is all about your students. Caring for them, feeding them, keeping them entertained between classes, and providing them with an unforgettable university experience.
So, no pressure. Our success and bank balance depend on the crowds of young minds clamoring in the halls and having a good time.
Each course has its own set of room requirements and upgrades as it progresses, bringing a whole new group of students into the halls. It’s a happy cycle as students arrive for three years at a time before being thrown out into the real world as the adults you may or may not have cultivated.
Other Features
Two Point Campus is all about striking a balance between academic achievement and wild partying with friends. You can fill the halls with arcade machines and table football, but also, and more importantly, items to help students get to know one another.
The course rooms are fantastic. Individual training rooms are packed with fascinating machines, whereas lecture theaters are just some tiered seating and a podium. Another important aspect of university life. A bench to share food on can go a long way toward forming long-lasting friendships or occasionally meeting cute.
