Nokia XR20: The Most Durable Smartphone Yet!

Nokia XR20 Update: Nokia launched its most durable smartphone, the XR20, on 4 August 2021. It is the most rugged, durable device. But Nokia has just focused on the ruggedness of the device and has let down various other features, such as the display, processor, and other specifications. Which might make you think twice, before buying this device. This device is also focused just on rugged usage.

What does this device offer?

Body: The material used on this device is plastic. The back of the XR20 is made up of hard polycarbonate. The sides are rubberized and have a metallic finish. The side also has a volume controller along with a power button which has an integrated fingerprint sensor. The phone is thick and a lot heavy than normal flagship devices.

The display of the device is protected with Corning Gorilla Glass Victus. It has a dedicated Google Assistant button on the left side. It has an emergency trigger button on the top. The XR20 is super sturdy and feels very rugged in hand. It is IP68 dust/water-resistant and is concrete resistant up to 1.8m.

Display: It has an IPS LCD display, which has a 60Hz refresh rate. The display size is 6.67 inches, with 1080 X 2400 pixels. It is a punch-hole display, and the bezels are not too thin.

Specifications: Nokia XR20 has Qualcomm Snapdragon 480 processor. It is integrated with two specifications. One with 4GB RAM + 64GB ROM, and other specification is 6GB RAM + 128GB ROM. Out of the box, the device has Android 11 and is upgradable to Android 12. It is a stock UI experience that is very smooth to use.

Camera specifications: Nokia XR20 has a dual-camera setup on the back with dual flash. There is a wide 48MP camera along with a 13MP ultra-wide camera which has a 123° field of view. It is a Zeiss lens. The selfie camera has an 8MP resolution. The videography resolution of the rear camera is 1080p @ 30FPS. The front camera has the same 1080p @ 30FPS. Camera performance is very poor and this device is not meant for that ultra camera setup.

Miscellaneous: The Nokia XR20 has all types of specifications. It has a 5G network band. WiFi 6 is supported along with Bluetooth 5.1. The battery capacity is 4630mAh which is charged by an 18W fast charger. It should last for about a day because it has a power-efficient chipset along with a clean and stock UI.

Final Verdict: Nokia XR20 is just meant for protection. It doesn’t have great specifications on paper although for light and daily usage it can perform better. But there is not a great camera and display specification.
