The four-part crime thriller is directed by Biyi Bandele and Kenneth Gyang and produced by Mo Abudu for EbonyLife Studios. The shooting location of the film is Lagos and Nigeria which pays a tribute to the city and also provides a glimpse to the viewers of the various socio-economic gaps in Africa. The show is Abudu’s latest project for Netflix as part of her multi-title deal with the platform.

The genre of Blood Sisters is crime-thriller. It depicts the life of two best-friends Sarah (Ini Dima-Okojie) and Kemi (Nancy Isime). Sarah is engaged to her dream man and is about to get married to him, Kola(Deyemi Okanlawon). However, it seems that this pastoral union has a dark side. Kola physically, verbally and emotionally abuses Sarah every day. Kemi tries to convince Sarah to break off the engagement but despite Kemi’s vocal misgivings, Sarah is adamant that she will marry him. Later on the engagement day, Kemi accidentally kills Kola while trying to defend herself.
