Dollface Season 2 Kat Dennings Tackles the Stress of Turning 30

Dollface Season 2 Updates: Dollface will return to TV screens on February 11th, more than two years after its debut in November 2019. Hulu has released a new trailer and poster for Dollface’s upcoming second season, capturing themes that will be familiar to viewers as the show’s primary group attempts to move ahead after being trapped indoors due to the pandemic.

With the return of Beth Grant’s ‘Cat Lady’ persona, Dollface’s surrealist humor is on full display in the two-minute clip. Interestingly, the new video not only features old awkward beats but also hints at growth, with Shay Mitchell’s character Stella starting a bar with a new cast member, Lilly Singh’s Liv. With a focus on personal development, Kat Denning’s Jules is mentored by her employer, Malin Kerman.

The trailer also assures viewers that the show’s heartbeat, friendship (in all of its manifestations), would not be neglected in favor of other plotlines. Brenda Song and Esther Povitsky, two more important cast members, are also set to return for the second season and are featured prominently in the video.

Season 2 will also follow the show’s stars as they approach a new turning point in their lives: thirty. They manage this while balancing job, love, and self-appreciation in the aftermath of the pandemic. It’s no surprise that Dollface’s new season takes place after the pandemic; in fact, it’s one of many series set in a post-pandemic world.

Shows like Grown-ish, Mr. Mayor, and You have all been set in post-pandemic scenarios — albeit in their own reality.

Several new faces will join the group for the highly anticipated sophomore season, including Jayson Blair, Lilly Singh, Luke Cook, Chelsea Frei, and Corinne Foxx. Dollface was conceived by Jordan Weiss, who also acts as executive producer alongside LuckyChap Entertainment’s Margot Robbie, Tom Ackerley, Josey McNamara, Clubhouse Pictures’ Bryan Unkeless, and Scott Morgan, Dennings, Nicole King, and Michelle Nader, who also serves as showrunner.
