Breaking Bad Actor Christopher Ranney Accused of Sexually Abusing Child

Christopher Ranney Updates: Actor Christopher Ranney who was seen in an episode of Breaking Bad and was also an active member of the new Mexico Film Community got arrested for a sexual assault on an alleged child on the 22nd of October in Santa Fe County.

Christopher Ranney, 49-year-old was also associated with  Sol Acting Studios and was also a producer of many other project films which were filmed in New Mexico other than  God is a Bullet, The Commando, The Manson Brothers Midnight Zombie Massacre. The claims against Ranney dates back to 2016.

The Albuquerque Journal reported that on the 7th of October a warrant was issued in Ranney’s arrest and it was on the 22nd of October that he was taken to custody.

The actor was charged with criminal sexual penetration in the first degree, criminal sexual contact/minor second degree, and bribery of a witness. A pretrial detention hearing has been arranged for Tuesday.

What Christopher Ranney Says About the Accusation?


The Santa Fe New Mexican reported that as stated in an arrest warrant affidavit filed in Bernalillo County Metropolitan Court, a young family member told her mother, that Ranney started touching her when she was 8 years old.

According to the affidavit, Christopher Ranney has clearly admitted the misconduct and has apologized as well. The Sol Acting Studios committed that Ranney is no longer associated, as of October, 18.

Speaking to the Journal the owner Ron Weisberg said that they have pulled out from the studios before the arrest due to unassociated family matters; he also said that the recent situation has forced Ranney to leave earlier than planned. Sol Acting Studios is known to offer acting and production classes to adults and youths.

Christopher Ranney has also been a member of the New Mexico Film Foundation board but has stepped aside from the board.
According to the IMDb profile the actor has over 70 acting credits. He was seen as a detective in the 2010 Breaking Bad episode “One Minute.” His other credits include Fright Night, Running with the Devil, The Dead of Night, Justice, and Spare Parts.
