Spiral’s begins with an armed man who is investigating subway tunnels just to encounter a mannequin which is wearing a similar attire that he’s currently wearing. A pig-covered, cloaked individual catches him – after the man falls to the baited trap- and knocks him out.

A TV screen turns on and the individual who is masked addresses the man, identifying him as Detective Boswick (Dan Petronijevic), telling him that in return for his long stretches of lying about individuals, basically “railroading” them on the testimony stand, it is now his turn to be railroaded.
