Halston Netflix Release Date, Cast, Trailer, Plot

Halston Updates: This Netflix series will be about a legendary designer, Halston. Ryan Murphy (Emmy winner) and Christine Vachon have teamed up for this. It is a limited series.

Halston is created and directed by Daniel Minahan (who has earlier worked on shows as Game of Thrones, Six Feet Under, and True Blood), he also serves as executive producer alongside McGregor, Murphy, Ian Brennan, Alexis Martin Woodall, Eric Kovtun, Sharr White, as well as Christine Vachon and Pamela Koffler of Killer Films.

This will be the first collaboration between Ryan Murphy and Killer Films’ Christine Vachon and Pamela Koffler which sets the expectations high. The director Minahan has been trying to get Halston to happen as a project for over 20 years.

Ryan Murphy is back again with yet another miniseries Halston after Feud and Hollywood. The show will depict the legendary fashion designer Roy Halston Frowick, played by Ewan McGregor as he builds his fashion empire in 1970s and 1980s before he was forced to leave his own fashion house.

The trailer came on Netflix’s official YouTube channel on May 3, 2021. It is dramatic and glamorous as it shows both the rise and fall of this legendary designer.

McGregor can be heard saying, “I have a vision. I’m going to change the face of American fashion”. A soundtrack by Depeche Mode “Enjoy the Silence” can be heard playing in the background.  Later we can also see how drugs and sex became synonymous with his life and career.
