That didn’t deter Abby’s actress Laura Bailey from winning the Performance of the Year and the Game itself from earning the Game of the Year award at the 2020 Game Awards. Seven months after its first release, The Last of Us Part 2 continues to win awards and to break records. This makes it the most prestigious video game in history, having hit CD Projekt Red’s The Witcher 3: Wild Hunt off the top spot where it has been perched for the last 5 years. This total includes not only media outlet honors, but also readers’ choice awards. It is no surprise that the Last of Us Part 2 fails to earn recognition.
Developers have definitely put a tremendous amount of time and attention to detail into the game. Even now, fans are also rediscovering the amusing Easter eggs that have been included in the big map, like a grizzly tribute to the Supernatural TV.
Many fans of The Last Of Us Part 2, now hope that Naughty Dog will release a new multiplayer component to the series. Since Naughty Dog teased something special for the “Last of Us Day” in September, many were surprised that it turned out to be merchandise rather than a TLOU Factions-Esque add-on. That said, even Factions from 2013 still offers fans a series of surprises; The Last of Us speedrunner Anthony Caliber recently displayed a little-known camera action that happens during the gameplay, based on whether the player is a male or a female.
While The Last Of Us Part 2 continues to climb in the annals of gaming history, Naughty Dog developers are now working on another title, but what it could remain a mystery.
All the fans have been telling us that Co-President Neil Druckmann is “very cool.” With the experience of game developers, with previous successes like the Uncharted franchise, the prospect of something new on the horizon is an extremely promising one for fans to look forward to.
