Gilmore Girls Season 9 Update: There are only a handful of shows which everyone has heard about, the shows which have made it to the hallway of people favourites. The one’s everyone has watched at some point in their life or another. Gilmore Girls is one of them. This cult classic was called one of the 100 greatest television shows of all time by the Times.
This early 2000’s show stole all our hearts when it made its debut in October 2000 on The WB television network. In its eight-year-long run, the show won over audiences all over the world. It was a sad moment when it all came to an end in 2007 after its seventh season. The last season was aired on the CW television network. The last episode of the series was aired on May 15, 2007.
The show revolves around the relationship between single mother Lorelai Gilmore and her daughter Rory, who live in Stars Hollow, Connecticut, a small fictional town filled with colourful characters. The series explores issues of family, romance, education, friendship, disappointment, and ambition, along with generational divides and social class.

Image Source: GlamourThe latter themes manifest through Lorelai’s difficult relationship with her high society parents, Emily and Richard, and Rory’s experiences at the elite private high school Chilton and later on at Yale University.
In 2016, Netflix revived the show by producing a four-episode mini-series. This series follows the characters in their new life as they deal with loss and relationships and their career. Rory Gilmore attempts to write her own book. At the end of the four seasons, it is revealed that she is pregnant.
Her mother, Lorelai Gilmore is dealing with the recent death of her father. She is tricked into therapy with her mother. Rory wants to write a book about both their lives but Lorelai does not seem inclined towards it. At the end of the show, we see Lorelai get married to her long time boyfriend Luke Danes.
Fans were not satisfied with the ending they were given. All the strings were scattered and they were not ready to say goodbye yet.
This is one of the main reasons why Netflix has renewed the show for yet another season. It will be centred around Rory’s pregnancy.
Due to the prior commitments of the staff, it is difficult to know when the new season will be released but, we are excited nonetheless.
