My 600-lb Life Season 9 Update: ‘It is a TLC’s hit and very long-running reality TV show that had originally aired in 2012. Every episode features a very obese person who is over 600 pounds in weight. They are so fat that they have difficulties in performing daily tasks. Sometimes, their heavyweight even proves detrimental to their life.

The episode then revolves around their journey and tells us the evolution within a span of one year. They try to cut down their weight to a healthy level.

The eighth season of the show premiered on January 1, 2020, on TLC. It had 16 episodes. Then it was renewed for its ninth edition.

What is the Cast of the show?

Dr. Younan Nowzaradan also known as Dr. Now, is an Iranian-American surgeon, TV personality, and author. Dr. Now has been the lead star of the show since its starting, he will be seen in season 9 as well. Other than him,  every episode will feature a new morbidly obese participant.

The previous season of ‘My 600-lb Life’ could not finish airing all of its episodes because of the COVID-19 pandemic. Thus, season 9 kicks off with the unaired episodes from season 8 and then proceeds to drop the new episodes.

Every episode throws the limelight on one morbidly obese individual as s/he seeks the help of Dr. Now to get them back on track.

All the patients also need to convince the surgeon to approve them for the bariatric surgery. Like in one of the episodes, an overweight woman explains: “I wake up every morning and that’s when it comes crashing down on me. This is not the life I wanted.”

In this ninth season, just like its earlier ones, additionally follows the stars and the impact of their health on their close ones. It also details the aftereffects of habits like addiction and dependency on food to overcome emotional crises.
