The Boondocks is written by Aaron McGruder and developed into an American animated sitcom. It first premiered in 2005. There is a comic book of the same name.

The reports and speculations about it in 2019 suggested that the new season will be back soon. The work of season 5 is said to be done and it will come on air by the end of 2020. It will be telecasted on HBO Max.
