The Outsider Season 2 Updates: The American horror crime drama series ‘The Outsider’ has been ruled out from the renewal of the show as HBO has opted not to move forward with the second season.

Though the series has not been renewed, Stephen King hinted about the script for the second season and the willingness of the cast and crew to continue with the series.

In November 2020, HBO passed on a second season. As known earlier, the 10 episodes crime drama series was based on the novel of the same name by Stephen King, but the presented script for season 2 was crafted by Richard Price.

Reportedly HBO stated that “We enjoyed our collaboration with [series writer/executive producer] Richard Price, Jason [Bateman] – who was also an exec producer and directed the first two episodes, as well as playing Terry Maitland, Andrew [Bernstein] and the MRC team, and we wish them well in continuing the world created by the brilliant Stephen King,”

Being an independent production company, MRC will be using its status to pitch it to all the premium network streaming companies.

The company has been in association with Netflix for a long time as they produced Ozark and House of Cards. Other series based on MRC’s book are  Starz series Counterpart and Hulu’s The Great.
