Goldbergs is set in the 1980s in Jenkintown, Pennsylvania, and reflects the authenticity of the 80s with preadolescents, and later in the series, the eyes of young people.

The eighth season of The Goldbergs averaged 0.78 for 18-49 people and 3.92 million viewers. Compared to season 7, that dropped by 11% on demos and 6% on viewers.
