Netflix movie ‘Operation Christmas Drop’- Everything we know so far

Operation Christmas Drop Updates: A holiday rom-com created by Martin Wood and produced by Brad Krevoy along with a score of executive producers, this is the first scripted movie to have been filmed in the U.S. territory.

Operation Christmas Drop is actually a tradition started as a training mission for the U.S Air Force and the longest-running humanitarian airlift in the world that has been operating in full swing since 1952.

Assented by the local community of Guam, the region which its hovers over as coordinated by Anderson Air Force Base and Yokota Air Base with the objective of dropping stocks and gifts intermittently targeting the people of Micronesia.

What could have given a more vacation-like feeling at home than this Netflix flick voyaging through the idyllic Island of Guam bookended by the Pacific Ocean?

Let’s sneak a look into  its storyline

The official synopsis goes as -Chasing a promotion, a congressional aide, Erica Miller sabotages her Christmas with family and is sent across to the Pacific at her boss’s behest.

At the beachside Air force base, she comes to blows with her guide, Captain Andrew Jantz who knows the facility is on the verge of being shut down if licensed for being the next BRAC casualty.

The pilot’s pet project -Operation Christmas Drop, where supplies are parachuted to residents of remote islands has been a matter of long-standing debate for the lawmakers. However, Erica grows soft at heart once she perceives the customs and communal spirit of Andrew,s adopted family.

The fact that the real prospects of both BRAC and Operation Christmas Drop have been clamped together for this project makes it a  Hallmark-Esque flick ideal for holiday.

When will it be available on Netflix?

It is headed for a global premiere this November 5th exclusively on the streaming giant with the official runtime being 95 minutes.

Who is the cast of this upcoming film?

Surely it has been a surreal experience for the main leads to shooting in a fully-functioning base with tight security. Starring as Erica Miller is Kat Graham, a well-known alum of the Vampire Diaries and this marks her 2nd Netflix Originals movie after The Holiday Calander.

She is paired opposite the C-130 pilot, Andrew by Alexander Ludwig, acclaimed for his role in Vikings and The Hunger Games, assisted by Virginia Madsen, Aaron Douglas, Trezzo Mahoro, and a few other co-actors.
