However, filmmaker Kevin Smith has expressed his desire to direct one more episode out of the twenty episodes in the final season. He wishes to direct star Melissa Benoist in another running.
Initially, the popularity of the series did not meet the expectations of the makers. Hence, a new season of the show always remained in doubt. At the end of season 1, the show was shifted from CBS. It is on its sister network, The CW as the show was on verge of cancellation.
Supergirl Season 6 Why Does Kevin Smith Want to Direct Another Episode?
Smith’s love for comic books is visible everywhere. It is well-known to all. He also mentioned that he was a fan of the show even before he got an opportunity to direct four of its episodes. The first episode he directed was a part of Season 2.
Smith is famous for his attempt to bring Superman Lives back to life on big screens in the 1990s. it is known as the stuff of legends. He is also famous for Jay and Silent Bob Reboot which released in 2019.
It was also reported on comicbook.com that Smith, in his podcast, Fatman Beyond, said that he is saddened at the news of the show leaving the platform. The end of the show has made him upset. He said that he loved the show so much. Since the show revolved around the relationship between two females, i.e.,
Kara Danvers and her sister Alex, Kevin said that the makers should get twenty female directors. He said, “There’s a world where you get twenty female directors, and f*** all the dudes for last season”. However, he also mentioned that if the makers are allowing the entry of male directors as well then he needs to make some phone calls.
