Netflix’s Painkiller: A new addition in the drug-related TV series is being bought on Netflix. The name of this TV series is a painkiller. This TV series is being directed by the award-winning director Eric Newman. He is the person who made the worldwide phenomenon known as Narcos. Narcos was the story of the drug lord of Mexico “pablo escobar” and how he built his empire of cartel and drug. The director also made Narcos: Mexico which was incorporated in the originally issued series narcos.

Painkiller will also be focusing on the drug angle of the society. This tv series will focus on the infamous opiod crisis. The writing for this show will be done by the Emmy award-winning duo Micah Fitzerman-Blue and Noah Harpster. In accordance with being the writers of this show, they would also be serving as showrunners and executive producers of this show.

The story for this show will be based on the opiod crisis that took the lives of many people between the year 1999 to 2017. All of this was because of the prescribed use of Oxycontin that was issued by Purdue Pharma. This hit society at every level,be it working class, families, rich people or poor people, didn’t matter. The story focuses on the dark side of the drug pharma’s and how they made a billion-dollar marketing campaign claiming that the use of oxycontin was much more safer and effective than any other painkiller available in the market.

The actors that would be casting in this Tv series are yet unknown but we are sure to hear about the cast very soon.

Production status

The Tv series is set to go into production on August 9, 2021, and is set to be wrapped up on November 5, 2021. However, the shooting for the show can take more time than estimated due to the COVID 19 pandemic situation. The filming for the series will take place in New York, Toronto, the US, and Canada.
