In Jujutsu Kaisen season 2 episode 5, titled “Premature Death,” a character named Geto explained how Gojo, a powerful sorcerer, became really skilled at his techniques.

Because of this, Geto felt left out and grew to hate people who aren’t sorcerers. This feeling got stronger when he met Yuki Tsukumo and when a friend of Nanami, Yu Haibara, died.

Geto went on a mission to help a village troubled by a Curse. In that village, he saw two kids, Nanako, and Mimiko Hasaba, being mistreated.

Geto’s anger built up, and he ended up killing the villagers to save the kids. Subsequently, Gojo and Geto crossed paths in Shinjuku, engaging in a clash of contrasting ideologies.

Despite Gojo’s awareness of Geto’s eccentric schemes, he opted to allow him to depart. Twelve months later, Geto resurfaced as a spiritual leader, assuming control of an entity known as the Time Vessel Association. He adopted the Hasaba twins and did some bad things.

The story arc came to an end when Gojo regained consciousness in October 2018, greeted by the eager presence of Megumi, Yuji, and Nobara anticipating his return.
