American sci-fi horror series ‘From’ is returning this April with its Season 2. John Griffin created this series the plot of which is set in a middle American town. Whoever enters the nightmarish town, gets trapped inside it.

As the residents struggle to survive by seeking a way out, they find their existence threatened by dangerous nocturnal creatures from the surrounding forest while dealing with the hidden secret of the town itself.

A series, created by John Griffin, by the title of ‘From’ was first announced to be under development on June 7, 2018.

In May of 2021, the names of the lead cast members were announced with the others joining the cast in July. Filming commenced in the last week of May. The first season was released on February 20, 2022, on Epix.

It garnered positive reviews for its story and the performance of one of the lead cast members Harold Perrineau. A second season was renewed on 24th April that year and is scheduled to arrive on April 23, 2023.

Harold Perrineau-

One of the lead cast members American actor Harold Perrineau portrays the role of the township’s sheriff and de facto mayor- Boyd Stevens.

His television debut was through the role of the recurring character Fame Dancer in the American tv series ‘Fame’ from 1986 to 1987. From 2004 to 2010 he portrayed Michael Dawson in the sci-fi drama series ‘Lost’.

As Dean Simms, he served as the main cast member in the comedy-drama series ‘Claws’. Perrineau’s other television credits include ‘I’ll Fly Away’, ‘Oz’, ‘The Unusuals, ‘Marvel Anime’, ‘Sons of Anarchy’, ‘Wedding Band’, ‘Constantine’, ‘Goliath’, ‘Full Circle’, ‘Criminal Minds’, ‘Star’, ‘The Rookie’, etc.

For starring as Thomas “Rashid” Cole in the 1995 independent movie ‘Smoke’ he was nominated for an Independent Spirit Award for Best Supporting Male.

Four years later he starred in the comedy-drama movie ‘The Best Man’ and was nominated for the NAACP Image Award for Outstanding Supporting Actor in a Motion Picture.

Catalina Sandino Moreno-

A newcomer in the town- Tabitha Matthews, has been played by Colombian actress Catalina Sandino Moreno in the series. She will be reprising her role as Jim’s wife who has come to the town with her family.

She was nominated for an Academy Award for Best Actress along with winning a number of other accolades for starring in the 2004 drama film ‘Maria Full of Grace’.

Before being cast in ‘Form’ she previously starred in the television series The Bridge’, ‘Red Band Society’, ‘East Los High’, ‘Falling Skies’, ‘The Affair’, ‘American Gothic’ etc.

The role of Tabitha’s husband Jim Matthews will be reprised by American actor Eion Bailey from the first season.

His other television credits include ‘Significant Others’, ‘Band of Brothers, ‘ER’, ‘Covert Affairs’, ‘Once Upon a Time’, ‘Ray Donovan’, ‘Stalker’, ‘The Stand’, etc.

In 2005 Bailey played Michael in Barra Grant’s ‘Life of the Party’ for which he won the Daytime Emmy award for Outstanding Performer in a Children/Youth/Family Special.

The role of Jade, another new arrival with the Matthews family, will be reprised by Canadian actor David Alpay in the upcoming season.

His other television credits include ‘The Tudors, ‘The Borgias’, ‘The Vampire Diaries’, ‘The Lottery’, ‘Suits’, ‘Proven Innocent, etc.

The role of the earliest surviving resident and a mysterious member of Colony House named Victor will be reprised by Canadian actor Scott McCord in the upcoming season.

He previously served as the voice cast member in a number of television series that include ‘Pecola’, ‘Rolie Polie Olie’, ‘The Eleventh Hour’, ‘Miss Spider’s Sunny Patch Friends’, ‘Time Warp Trio’, ‘Ruby Gloom’, ‘Yin Yang Yo!’, ‘My Big Big Friend’, ‘Justin Time’, ‘Camp Lakebottom’, ‘PAW Patrol’, ‘Lost Girl’, ‘Wishenpoof!’, ‘Total Drama Presents The Ridonculous Race’, ‘Inspector Gadget’, ‘Total DramaRama’ etc.

The role of the deputy sheriff of the community- Kenny Liu, will be reprised by Canadian actor Ricky He in the upcoming season. His previous television credits include ‘Trial & Error’, ‘The Good Doctor‘, etc.

In 2017 He starred as Henry in the television film ‘Christmas Solo’ for which he was nominated for the Leo Award for Best Supporting Performance by a Male in a Television Movie.

Other cast members who will be reprising their roles in the upcoming season are Elizabeth Saunders as the head of the Colony House- Donna, Chloe Van Landschoot as the doctor of the community- Kristi, Pegah Ghafoori as a member of the Colony House- Fatima, Corteon Moore playing Ellis Stevens, Hannah Cheramy playing Tabitha and Jim’s daughter Julie, Simon Webster playing Tabitha and Jim’s son Ethan, Avery Konrad playing Sara, and Elizabeth Moy playing Tian-Chen Liu.
