The Masked Singer: Fans reaction for the first celebrity
The Masked Singer Updates: On Boxing Day, The Masked Singer unveiled its second UK season, with judges Davina McCall, Jonathan Ross, Rita Ora, and Mo Gilligan seeking to guess the celebrity contestant’s name.
The famous show sees actors dress up in extravagant costumes and perform pop song covers before a live crowd, who vote to remain in the race with their favorites.
The character Alien was voted out of the contest in the first episode of the new season and obliged to reveal her name. When the celebrity took her mask off, the judges were stunned, revealing it to be pop star Sophie Ellis-Bextor.
About the first season:
The character Alien was voted out of the contest in the first episode of the new season and obliged to reveal her name.
When the celebrity took her mask off, the judges were stunned, revealing it to be pop star Sophie Ellis-Bextor. The crime scene reference in her intro was among the hints dropped before the announcement, referring to her hit single Murder on the Dancefloor and a nod to her cameo in Game of Thrones.
The singer, along with her partner Richard Jones, was cast by showrunners for scenes in the Battle of Winterfell.
The Masked Singer Fans Reaction:
She later disclosed, however, that viewers would not be able to see her in The Long Night, since the episode was famously dim, a concern that attracted a lot of concerns from fans.
Since she became the first star to be voted off the competition, her followers were almost as displeased with The Masked Singer.
Many believed it was because, when she sang a cover of Don’t Start Now by Dua Lipa, she had tried to mask her familiar singing voice. Ellis-Bextor tweeted to fans after her identity was revealed: Yes, like most of you guessed it was me, and she at #themaskedsinger.
Even my one-year-old pointed at the telly, screaming, Mummy when I began to sing in an alien costume. Anyhoo, a fun and trippy way to spend a few days and watch the rest of the show, she said, no idea who anybody is.
