Scott Cooper has directed the upcoming American movie ‘The Pale Blue Eye’. It falls under the gothic horror mystery genre and is based on the same named novel by American author Louis Bayard in 2003.
Christian Bale was announced to star in the movie in February of 2021. This movie serves as the third one for Bale and director Cooper to work together.
An ensemble cast of stars in the film includes Harry Melling, Gillian Anderson, Charlotte Gainsbourg, Lucy Boynton, Toby Jones, Simon McBurney, Harry Lawtey, Robert Duvall, and Timothy Spall with Bale. The filming of the movie started on November 29 of 2021.
The premise of ‘The Pale Blue Eye’:
The plot of the upcoming movie The Pale Blue Eye is set in the year 1830 and revolves around a number of murders as well as their investigation. The murders occur at the United States Military Academy of West Point, New York.
Augustus Landor, a veteran detective, is tasked with investigating the murders. A young cadet of the United States Military Academy Edgar Allan Poe aids him in the investigations.

Melling first gained prominence as a child actor for his portrayal of Dudley Dursley, Harry’s muggle cousin in five Harry Potter movies from 2001 to 2010. The character of Julia Marquis is played by American actress Gillian Anderson in the upcoming movie. In 1993 she was cast as FBI Special Agent Dana Scully in the sci-fi drama series ‘The X-Files’ in which role she starred since 2002 and again from 2016 to 2018.
