Min-hee was a dancer who also excelled in baking. Unfortunately, she killed herself in the grasp of Choi Pro. Choi Pro is a drug dealer who also engages in human trafficking and strange assassination.

One of his side jobs is drugging and recording unaware women. He then threatens and extorts money from his victims using the video footage.

Ok-ju is eventually shot – but not fatally – by the wounded and more furious Choi Pro, who has spent the whole movie being emasculated and disgraced by our heroine.

Choi also shoots the gang’s greedy chemist, mainly because no one is left alive to deal with the business of paying him.

The kidnapped slave girl takes advantage of the opportunity to take a potshot at Choi, which misses but provides a good diversion for Ok-ju to screw him up and push him into the trunk of his car.

The women bring Choi to the beach, where Chekhov’s flamethrower, which the crazed old couple teased before, comes into action.

Choi horrified at this point, exclaims that Ok-ju is exaggerating things, which seems a ridiculous accusation considering what he has been up to throughout. He needs clarification because he has no idea why Ok-ju has such a rivalry against him until she mentions the ballerina, Min-hee.

Choi spends the last few minutes vilely taunting Ok-ju about what he’ll do to Min-hee in Hell once he gets there, similar to what the girl from The Exorcist does to Max von Sydow, and Ok-ju ultimately barbecues him with the flamethrower in an excellent side-on shot.

A last flashback indicates that the beach was a particular, hidden spot for Ok-ju and Min-hee; therefore, carrying Choi to meet his fate had some emotional importance. His crackling body adds a terrific finishing touch to this cruel, narrow vengeance thriller.

Ok-ju goes to Choi’s home after killing him to get the pen drives containing the footage he stored for blackmailing the ladies. She also discovers his diary and reads the contents this time. It thoroughly accounts for all the women he harmed and the places he met them.

The journal also reveals some of the cuts he was giving people for their assistance in assisting him date and rape these women.

Choi also saw his actions as a part-time job, as he told the ring leader in the hospital, which was why he could afford his extravagant lifestyle and his cherished Lamborghini. This demonstrates how women were always a way to an end for him.

He realized that he could effectively possess and make money from them by intimidating and controlling them. Ok-ju immediately recognized this part of him, so she wanted to track him down and frighten him into seeing what the vulnerable women he was blackmailing and tormenting were going through.

The film concludes with a glimpse of a lovely ballerina twirling in the water, seemingly at ease. This refers to a flashback scenario following Ok-ju’s murder of Choi.

Ok-ju learns from this situation how free and happy Min-hee feels near the water and how it makes her feel alive.

Even if it appears strange, Min-hee is sure she will reincarnate as a fish because she believes the world belongs to them and humans are merely delusory about it. Ok-ju concludes that Min-hee is now free to be a fish in the water, much like the ballerina at the end.
