The Buccaneers Apple TV+ Official Trailer Breakdown!

The trailer for Apple TV+’s upcoming series adaption of “The Buccaneers” has been released. The series’ soundtrack includes songs by famous singers such as Olivia Rodrigo, Taylor Swift, and Maggie Rogers.

The latest trailer for Apple TV+‘s upcoming adaptation of Edith Wharton’s final novel, The Buccaneers, offers plenty of conflicting cultures and tangled loves.

Like Netflix‘s regency blockbuster Bridgerton, the Buccaneers appears to revel in violating all of the period drama standards, with plenty of s*x, a soundtrack full of current pop music, and a cast of young characters that would fit right in with a teen drama. In a nutshell, it is a lot of fun.

The Buccaneers | Official Trailer

The first trailer, set to Olivia Rodrigo’s ‘All-American Bitch’, features a group of young American females who come to London searching for a gentleman.

Their route to marriage is soon complicated by love triangles and the aristocracy of the English upper class, who rely on their new money to maintain their extravagant lifestyles.

As one character says, “We must just brace our teeth and think of the endless amounts of cash.” The girls, for their part, are unimpressed with London society’s outdated attitudes about women.

The Buccaneers, set in the 1870s, delves into a period when wealthy American families sent their daughters abroad to find their partners with titles among England’s upper elite.

The key “Buccaneers” are friends from wealthy families who will gain status if they marry into the aristocracy. Meanwhile, England’s old families would do whatever to maintain their influence, including marrying their sons to these new heiresses.

However, the young ladies at the story’s center seek something other than an ideal marriage. They want a thrill while in London, and they’ll get it as they attend balls, become engaged in love triangles, and remain together even as they confront the twin weights of familial standards and the scorn of the upper-crust British families they’ve been sent to charm.
