Recently, reboots have been everywhere, but Prime Video’s most recent endeavor stands out. Donald Glover said in February 2021 via an Instagram Account that he would be collaborating with Phoebe Waller-Bridge on a TV adaptation of “Mr. & Mrs. Smith.”
Variety, meanwhile, claimed that Waller-Bridge left the show in September 2021 owing to artistic disputes. As of late, Maya Erskine has replaced Waller-Bridge as the series’ co-star. Glover made the casting announcement during a self-conducted interview for Interview magazine in April.
Glover questioned, “How did Phoebe Waller-Bridge fare? She was meant to be on “Smith,” right?” He then said, “Yeah. nonetheless traditional artistic differences.”
Then he said that Erskine, known for co-creating and starring in Hulu’s “PEN15,” is the new Mrs. Smith. Erskine was described by Glover as “dope.” “It is thrilling. I adore the program. Now I’m writing the conclusion.”

On June 29, Fortune announced that Prime Video’s TV relaunch had increased its roster; Erskine and Glover will be joined by Michaela Coel, John Turturro, & Paul Dano in unspecified guest roles.
Brad and Angelina Jolie portrayed married spies John and Jane Smith in the original “Mr. & Mrs. Smith” on June 7, 2005, which debuted in theatres. He and Erskine portray the title protagonists in Glover’s series, who are employed by an unidentified intelligence agency.

Even while it’s not yet known what the original show will feature, we already know it is indeed going to be phenomenal. In accordance with his overall contract with Amazon Studios, Glover is not only a star of Mr. & Mrs. Smith. but also a cocreator, screenwriter, and executive producer. The show’s other co-creator and showrunner is Francesca Sloane.
Previous works by Glover with Amazon Studio include the musical “Guava Island” (2019), which stars Rihanna, and the upcoming “Hive” (2019), which has Malia Obama in its writers’ room. He’s also getting ready for “Atlanta’s” fourth and last season, which is set to debut this autumn.
