The Crown Season 6 Part 2 trailer begins with the entire family posing for a portrait, with little Prince William (Ed McVey) feeling awkward at smiling for the camera.

The young prince is troubled by his mother’s death, Princess Diana, as a highly personal event for him stays in the limelight for all to see. Growing up as a member of the Royal Family may be difficult, especially as Prince William needs time to grieve the death of one of the most significant persons in his life.

The second half of Season 6’s new episodes will focus on Prince William meeting Kate Middleton, then-Prince Charles’s wedding to Camilla, and Princess Margaret’s death.

We get a quick flashback to Foy’s young Elizabeth, Smith’s Prince Philip, and Vanessa Kirby’s Margaret – the three characters first seen in the show’s first two seasons – while looking forward to William and Kate.

As the family expands, Prince Phillip discovers what it’s like to be a grandfather while seeing his son, Prince Charles (Dominic West), struggle to be a decent parent. Many generations clash in the last episodes of a drama that has covered decades of world events and their consequences.

Even as the series nears its conclusion, we’re being introduced to some new faces to show the maturing of the young princes and an influx of new characters.

Ed McVey replaces Prince William as he portrays him in his late teens and initial university days. Meg Bellamy got the coveted, much-awaited part of a young Kate Middleton, while Matilda Broadbridge plays her sister, Pippa, in a more minor role.

Luther Ford, a novice actor, takes up the role of a teenage Prince Harry from Fflyn Edwards, who played him as a little kid in Part One.

The Crown’s last installment will be released on December 14, 2023. This is the show’s final season, and creator Peter Morgan has stated that if he made a comeback to the royal family and the series, he would “go back in time” rather than forward.
