George C. Wolfe has directed the upcoming American biographical drama film the plot of which is centered upon the life of Bayard Rustin, African American leader in social movements for gay rights, civil rights, nonviolence, and socialism, and how Rustin helped Martin Luther King Jr. and other activists to organize the 1963 March on Washington.

When Is ‘Rustin’ Releasing on Netflix?

A film based on the life of Bayard Rustin was first reported in February of 2021 to be directed by George C. Wolfe from a script by Dustin Lance Black and Julian Breece.

The same year in October Colman Domingo was cast in the role of Rustin. Other cast members kept joining till December 2021.

The movie is scheduled to premiere at Toronto International Film Festival in September 2023. In select theaters, it will be released on November 3, 2023, and will premiere worldwide on 17th November this year on Netflix.
