Avatar 2 Completed Filming and Avatar 3 Shooting Almost Finished

Avatar 2 Updates: Since the original Avatar reached theatres over a decade ago. So James Cameron has now confirmed that Avatar 2 has completed shooting ahead of its planned release in 2022. So in addition, Cameron has confirmed that Avatar 3 is very nearly finished shooting.

Cameron provided fans with an update on the status of the forthcoming films. As stated by CinemaBlend through an interview with Arnold Schwarzenegger during the 2020 Austrian World Summit.

“We’ll also start working on completing Avatar 3 the day we deliver Avatar 2,” Cameron said. “So where we’re right now, I’m shooting down in New Zealand. We’re shooting the rest of the live-action. On Avatar 2, we’re 100 percent complete, and on Avatar 3 we’re kind of 95 percent total.”

Cameron and his team returned to New Zealand, the same location where the original Avatar shot. After a pause in shooting earlier this year due to the coronavirus (COVID-19) pandemic, to finish shooting for Avatar 2 and Avatar 3.

Characters Going To Be Present In Avatar Sequel

The information has started trickling out about the story of Avatar 2. This will concentrate heavily on Jake Sully and his new family as they discover Pandora’s new places. Including spending quite a bit of time on the lake, across the lake, in the ocean,” explained producer Jon Landeau.

We have already seen some of the concepts of art portraying the vast water environments of Pandora as well as the Crabsuit’s concept of art. A massive, crablike submarine showing one of the many new vehicles that will be used in the forthcoming sequels of Avatar.

Avatar 2 director Jon Landau has teased a few early plot specifics regarding the long-awaited sequel. As the crew prepares to restart shooting due to the coronavirus (COVID-19) pandemic in the aftermath of its production suspension.

Landau, who co-produces Avatar with director James Cameron, posted a set picture of two high-tech underwater ships in a recent Instagram update. As he revealed the crew’s plans to restart production soon in New Zealand.

Avatar 2 reportedly set for a release date of December 16, 2022. With Avatar 3 set to debut two years later on December 20, 2024, after Disney earlier this year pushed back its release timeline.
