Jantje Friese and Baran no Odar created the upcoming German series 1899′. The epic period drama falls under the mystery horror genre. The showrunners also serve as executive producers for the series which is produced by Dark Ways production company.
The plot line of 1899:
The plot line of the series begins with a number of Europe migrants who are on their way to New York City to start new lives. They have left London on a steamship. But as they find another ship of migrants in the middle of the open sea, their fate turns against them and they embark upon a nightmarish journey.

Emily Beecham-
Playing the role of a character named Maura Franklin, English actress Emily Beecham will be seen starring in the series. Beecham previously starred in the 2009 British drama ‘The Calling’ in the lead role of Joanna.
The next year she acted in the British horror movie ‘Basement’ as Pru. In 2017 Beecham portrayed the titular role of Daphne in the British drama ‘Daphne’ and in 2019 she played Alice in Jessica Hausner’s ‘Little Joe’ for which she received the award of Best Actress at the Cannes Film Festival.
Beecham was cast in BBC’s tv series ‘The Village’ as Caro Allingham from 2013 to 2014. From 2015 to 2019 she played the role of The Widow as a main cast member in ‘Into the Badlands. She also played Fanny Logan in the 2021 British romance miniseries ‘The Pursuit of Love.
Aneurin Barnard-
Welsh actor and musician Aneurin Barnard is another cast member of the upcoming series. Barnard played the main role of Davey in the 2011 British independent musical movie ‘Hunky Dory’. The next year in the Irish psychological horror movie he starred as Tommy and in the British horror movie ‘Elfie Hopkins’ he portrayed Dylan Parker.
In Francesca Gregorini’s thriller drama ‘The Truth About Emanuel’ (2013) Barnard was cast as Claude. The same year he also appeared as Jake in the British thriller drama ‘Trap for Cinderella and as Darnley in the Swiss period drama ‘Mary Queen of Scots.
Playing the protagonist Mariah Mundi, Barnard starred in the 2014 fantasy adventure movie ‘The Adventurer: The Curse of the Midas Box. Then in 2017 portraying the life of renowned composer of the Classical period Wolfgang Amadeus Mozart, Barnard was cast in the movie ‘Interlude in Prague’.
The same year he also starred in the war film ‘Dunkirk’ as part of an ensemble cast. Next year he played the real-life Canadian soldier, historian, fitness proponent, and entrepreneur Benjamin Weider in ‘Bigger’ co-starring with Tyler Hoechlin who played Joe Weider in the film.
He also played William, a struggling author, in the British black comedy ‘Dead in a Week or Your Money Back in 2018 co-starring with Tom Wilkinson in the other main role. In 2019 Barnard starred in three films which are ‘The Personal History of David Copperfield (as James Steerforth), ‘The Goldfinch’ (as Boris Pavilkovsky), and ‘And radioactive’ (Paul Langevin).
Andreas Pietschmann-
German actor Andreas Pietschmeann has starred in this series as well. The films in which he was cast include ‘Regular Guys’, ‘Sonnenallee’, ‘Altiplano’, ‘Mary of Nazareth’, ‘Belle and Sebastian’, ‘Beloved Sisters, etc.
Miguel Bernardeau-
Spanish actor Miguel Bernardeau is another cast member of the upcoming series. He has appeared in the films ‘It’s for Your Own Good, ‘Crime Wave’ and ‘Josephine’. From 2018 to 2021 Bernardeau starred in Netflix’s teen drama series ‘Elite’ as Guzmán Nunier Osuna.

Polish actor Maciej Musial is a Polish actor. He has given voice to characters in the Polish language version of various films. Those include ‘Halloweentown’, ‘Halloweentown II: Kalabar’s Revenge, ‘Planes’, ‘Khumba’, ‘Planes: Fire & Rescue, ‘Bunks’, ‘Animal Kingdom: Let’s Go Ape, ‘The Little Prince, ‘Ratchet & Clank’, etc.
He also gave voice to the character of Kenny in the Polish version of ‘Pokémon: Diamond and Pearl: Battle Dimension. Also, he gave voice to Dick Grayson / Robin / Damian Wayne / Rejuvenated Batman in the Polish version of the animated series Batman, to Chase Davenport in ‘Lab Rats’ and ‘Lab Rats: Elite Force’, and to Ezra Bridger in ‘Star Wars Rebels’.
Musial played the role of Michal Wielicki in the Polish tv series ‘Ojciec Mateusz as a series regular from 2008 to 2011. He portrayed Tomek Boski in the Polish comedy series Rodzinka. pl’ from 2011 to 2020, Apacz in season 7 of the 2014 Polish WWII series ‘Czas honor. Powstanie’, and Kajetan Skowron in the 2018 Netflix Original ‘1983‘ for which he also served as executive producer and writer.

English actor Anton Lesser will also be seen in the series. Lesser previously appeared in HBO’s celebrated epic fantasy series ‘Game of Thrones as Qyburn, in ‘Wolf Hall’ as Thomas More, in ‘The Crown as Harold Macmillan, in ‘A United Kingdom as Clement Attlee, in ‘Endeavour’ as Chief Superintendent Bright, etc.

Netflix released the official trailer for the upcoming series on October 24. ‘1899’ is set to release on November 17, 2022.
