Must Watch Series Like 1899

The upcoming German epic period horror mystery series ‘1899’, which is created by Baran bo Odar and Jantje Friese, revolves around a journey turned nightmare.

A number of European migrants embark upon a journey on a steamship from London to New York City in order to begin new lives. But as their encounter happens with another ship of migrants on the sea, a series of unlikely incidents begin to unveil.

The duo of Baran bo Odar and Jantje Friese is renowned for developing the popular sci-fi thriller ‘Dark’. So, when in November of 2018 the two were announced to be developing another series for Netflix, the expectation was already set quite high.

As the cast members of the series, we will find Emily Beecham, known for starring in ‘Into the Badlands’ and ‘Daphne’, Aneurin Barnard, Andreas Pietschmann, Miguel Bernardeau, Maciej Musial, etc.

The filming of the series concluded in November of 2021 and it is expected to air soon despite any official release date has yet not being announced.

Eventually, a connection based on time travel between four estranged families is discovered which leads to darker incidents.

Primary cast members of the series include Louis Hofmann, Andreas Pietschmann, Ella Lee, Dietrich Hollinderbäumer, Maja Schöne, Lena Urzendowsky etc. This Netflix Original ran from December 1, 2017 to June 27, 2020.

Psychological folk horror thriller ‘The Third Day’ from the showrunners Dennis Kelly and Felix Barrett revolves around the separate journeys of a man and a woman to a mysterious island at separate times.

Their journeys are featured in the series through two different segments parting them with another segment.

In the first part, which Marc Munden directed, we see a man named Sam on the island encountering islanders who are determined to preserve their traditions.

In the third part, which Philippa Lowthorpe directed, we find Helen on the same island. The middle part features a twelve-hour live event on that island. The three parts are respectively named Summer, Autumn, and Winter.

Jude Law and Naomie Harris portray Sam and Helen in the series. It ran from September 14 to October 19 of 2020.

Her name is Alma and she finds herself in a hospital waking up with amnesia and trauma. The rising action begins as Alma becomes determined to go to the bottom of the accident.

Mireia Oriol, Álex Villazán, Pol Monen are some of the cast members of the series. It was released on August 19, 2022, on Netflix.

British crime mystery adventure series ‘The Irregulars‘ is inspired by Arthur Conan Doyle’s Sherlock Holmes stories. Tom Bidwell created this series that follows a number of outsiders who work for Dr. Watson and the mysterious Holmes through solving supernatural mysteries. They are called the Baker Street Irregulars.

The cast members of the series include Thaddea Graham, Harrison Osterfield, Darci Shaw, McKell David, Jojo Macari, etc. The series was first announced to be under development on December 20, 2018.

Director Tom Bidwell has said that it is his dream project along with being his oldest idea. The series premiered on March 26, 2021, on Netflix.
