The Plot

Asha (Pallavi Sharda) couldn’t have been happier after calling off her engagement, abandoning behind a great banking position in the city, and relocating to New Jersey for a new beginning.

On the other hand, her mother believes that her oldest daughter will miss out on a lifetime of pleasure if she does not shift her attention away from her startup company job and toward finding a partner.

Asha’s mother takes circumstances into her own hands and develops an online dating profile in order to connect Asha with the “ideal” match.  Ravi (Suraj Sharma) on the other hand, or more accurately, Ravi’s parents — have the same plan for their kid.

Asha and Ravi’s tentative first date fails, and they quickly realize that they each are at an apparently different position in their lives right now.

After learning her mother is unyielding and therefore would not lose hope, Asha offers Ravi a win-win solution: a sham romance to be each other’s dates throughout the forthcoming wedding season.

Over the following three months, Asha and Ravi discover that they may have much more in common than they realize through innumerable invites, dances, and gowns. Perhaps their parents were right after all.
