The Suicide Squad Updates: As James Gunn’s The Suicide Squad fixes most of the improvement of the 2016 movie but the character which has surprised us more is Rick Flag.
The scriptwriter of Dawn of the Dead James Gunn re-improved the 2016 Suicide Squad with the direction of The Suicide Squad in 2021. The characters which were there in the movies were Harley Quinn, Peacemaker, Batman, Bloodsport, Rick Flag, and many more but the character which amazed us the most is Rick Flag.
He made his character debut in David Ayer’s original The Suicide Squad but in this movie, he is playing a unique and linked version. After The Suicide Squad was released Kinnaman was arrested under sexual assault and he was under investigation by the Swedish Prosecution Agency.
Rick Flag’s first appearance appeared in the pages of DC Comics in 1959. The fans who watch only DC movies may not know that there are three versions of Ricka father, a son, and a grandson. Flag’s appearance on the line screen was only three times.
The first appearance came during The CW’s episode Smallville which was played by Canadian TV star Ted Whittall. The other two appearances were in The Suicide Squad playing the same role as Rick Flag in both Ayer’s and Gunn’s movies.
The Suicide Squad: Kinnaman Returns

After Kinnaman returns in the 2021 movie, the fans thought that he is the same version as in 2016 Ayers’s movie but it is completely different. There is an improvement in Rick Flag’s newer version for some reason. In Suicide Squad 2016, Rick Flag was shown quite dull and not the most interesting character in the cast.
The main reason was the script neither his performance in the movie. In this 2016 movie, Flag was a military leader with a hoarse attitude who has a romance with shoehorned Enchantress. But in this 2021 movie, the attitude was totally different from Rick Flag as it was shown as a leader who creates a bond with his team, who enjoys his day like last day on the Earth, and develops qualities that weren’t in the last appearance.
He shows an outstanding tendency over Amanda Waller’s mission which helped him in Suicide Squad 2016. The flag does not give much independence to the freedom fighters as when they should attack the palace of Corto Maltese as he was attached to the prior comrade Harley Quinn which advised him to release him from the release.
Flag’s character was ended with the death scene that comes without any debate with the main star Peacemaker who has chosen mission over integrity. The flag has the ability to never giving up even after insulting Peacemaker off the mortal coil. It is clear that the flag is capable to lead the sequel.
