Paramount Welcomes Latest Cardi B Movie With WAP Joke

Cardi B: Paramount celebrated their latest film Assisted Living, scheduled to be the first leading vehicle for Cardi B, with a “WAP” connection that is shockingly apt.

In Cardi B design, Paramount celebrated their latest film — with a WAP joke. The studio revealed that her first feature film, Assisted Living, was directed by Cardi, the real name of Belcalis Marlenis Almánzar.

The rapper is going to play Amber, the little-time crook running away from the law and her former crew. Amber camouflages herself like an elderly lady and hides in her estranged grandmother’s nursing home after the heist has gone bad.

What Cardi B has to say about the Movie

On Twitter, Paramount shared the update, honoring their star with a cheeky reference to her most recent single. In its own right, the title of the track “WAP,” has become a meme style, with certain members of social media joking that the initials stand for less obscene words.

In this tradition, Paramount proceeded by tweeting:

Cardi B
The first lead film role for @IAmCardiB is WAP = Working at Paramount! We’re excited!

While Cardi’s first leading performance will be Assisted Living, it won’t be her first film role. She previously had a well-received appearance in the Hustlers of Lorene Scafaria and will star in the Fast & Furious franchise’s forthcoming ninth episode.

She is also no stranger to unscripted entertainment, appearing in the Hustle & Flow Netflix competition show and her Facebook Live Cardi Tries series. Initially, on the reality series Love & Hip Hop, the Grammy nominee rose to fame.

Kay Oyegun Assisted Living was published by (This Is Us). They’re producing Temple Hill and Stephen Love. The project doesn’t have a producer or release date attached yet, but those specifics are sure to come shortly with the studio and a big-name star secured.
