Blood and Water Season 2: Blood and Water is a South African series that premiered on May 20, 2020, on the Netflix streaming site. The recent Netflix show gained a lot of eyeballs and fans are highly anticipating season 2.

In June 2020, Netflix officially announced the renewal of the show for a second season and the principal filming for the upcoming season has been started on October 13, 2020, in Cape Town, SA.

The show received a hugely positive response and ratings from the viewers and critics too. That’s the basic reason behind the renewal of the show.

Season 1 includes 6 episodes and the series is directed by Travis Taute, Byrne Joshua, and Nosipho Dumisa.

The primary story of the series revolves around Puleng, a high school girl, and her sister Phumelele who was kidnapped by a human trafficking network after her birth.

The story unfolds with the introduction of Fikile Bhele, a popular athlete from Parkhurst college. One day, Puleng was invited to a party of Fikile and with instances followed, she starts suspecting that Fikile is Phumelele.

The series is all about how Puleng starts investigating the mystery of her missing sister and other secrets kept by her friends and family.

As the season ended on a high note with Fikile and Puleng knowing about the reality behind their relation, there are still many loose ends which are yet to be answered and those questions can serve as the base premise for the upcoming season like what happened to the relationship of Puleng and Chad, whether Mark and Zama agreed to be in a triad relationship with Chris, etc

Cast and characters

The entire principal cast can be seen returning in the upcoming season. Amamkele Qamata will be seen playing the role of Puleng Khumalo.

The series also stars Khosi Ngema(Fikile Bhele), Gail Mabalane(Thandeka Khumalo), Thabang Molaba(Karabo ‘KB’ Molapo), Dillon Windvogel (Wade Daniels), Arno Greeff (Chris Ackerman), and Ryle De Morny(Chad Morgan).

Do we have a trailer or release date for the upcoming season?

Sadly, there is no official announcement of the release date for season 2. Also, no trailer has been dropped yet it will be too early keeping the delay in the filming process due to the pandemic in mind. The trailer will be released closer to the release date.
