Soul Updates: Disney’s next Pixar Film ‘Soul’ will not be released in theaters in different countries keeping in mind the ongoing Covid-19 pandemic. Instead, the film will stream on Disney+ instead of its original schedule to release in the theaters in November.

Even with this ongoing Corona outbreak, Disney is trying it’s best to keep the entertainment going. It has made Disney+ it’s safer releasing platform bypassing the usual theatre releases.

There have been a number of movies which have been previously released on Disney+ namely ‘Artemis Foul’, ‘Hamilton ‘ and ‘ Mulan’ and ‘Soul’ being the latest one to join them with an additional $30 premier access title but as Soul is not a premier title it will be free to the Disney+ subscribers.

Soul will be free to Disney+ subscribers:

Disney is trying it’s best to figure out ways to make the movie releases better. With Marvel Studio’s Black Widow pushed to 2021, we are aware that the virus has forced the movie theaters to close or work under heavy restrictions.

As an example, we saw Warner Bros’ release of Christopher Nolan’s Tenet perform decently overseas but the movie did not live up to its expectations in the UK.

The bright side for Disney is, the streaming platform Disney+ has grown tremendously worldwide with more than 60 million subscribers which seemed impossible before 2024. According to CEO Bob Chapek, the company saw an increase in the number of sign-ups when the streaming service brought Hamilton.

The Disney movie Soul revolves around Joe who is a middle school music teacher. ( Joe is voiced by Jamie Foxx). Things become weird when he somehow lands in a metaphysical world where the creation of new souls occurs.

With nowhere to go in this strange and new place, the middle school music teacher finds himself with another soul (voiced by Tina Fey). They together try to explain that life is beautiful and worth living.

Disney has high expectations from this movie with the hope that with people stuck at home during the pandemic, it can help boost Disney+ subscribers.

We will surely keep you posted about any new updates.
