Ryan Gosling Starrer The Fall Guy Official Trailer Released!

Ryan Gosling Rises to a New Level as a Stuntman in the First Trailer for ‘The Fall Guy’.

Fresh off his scene-stealing performance as Ken in Greta Gerwig’s huge summer film Barbie, Ryan Gosling takes on the role of a stunt guy who must discover a lost movie star in The Fall Guy.

The film is a loose remake of the iconic 1980s TV series of the same name featuring Lee Majors and is directed by David Leitch, who also brought us the stunning John Wick.

According to the new trailer, The Fall Guy is a pleasant homage to classic action comedies, offering Gosling another opportunity to show off his leading-man acting talents.

The Fall Guy teaser provides a closer look at the upcoming action-thriller. It begins with a bold car stunt performed by Gosling’s stuntman character, Colt.

Jody (Emily Blunt), his ex and the film’s director, is first impressed before realizing who the stuntman is. This sets up an intriguing enemies-to-lovers situation before the action plot takes over, and Colt is dragged into an undercover operation to find missing actor Tom Ryder.

The film is based on the Lee Majors program of the same name, which aired from 1981 to 1986. It follows an aging stuntman who becomes involved in a mystery when the celebrity he’s double unexpectedly disappears.

All Colt discovers in Ryder’s hotel room is a dead person on ice. This puts him in a clash with several bad guys who are now out to murder him “and not in a fun way.” He gets to put his stunt skills to good use, including a car chase with a cute doggo set to Bon Jovi’s “You Give Love a Bad Name.”

The film can highlight the humorous tone that Leitch has delivered in many of his prior action pictures due to Ryan’s character’s fallibility. While Colt is in over his head, that doesn’t stop him from pulling off some incredible actions on and off camera.

As the show’s star, Gosling is not the only member of the top-billing cast. The film is directed by David Leitch, a veteran Hollywood stuntman-turned-director (he had been Brad Pitt’s stuntman); thus, this project appears tailor-made for him.

Back in front of the camera, however, Aaron Taylor-Johnson will play the diva for whom Gosling must shatter bones and then save. It’s a reunion for Johnson and Leitch, who most recently collaborated on Bullet Train, and if the tone of this film is similar, there’ll be plenty of riffing.

Other cast members include Emily Blunt, who will play Gosling’s ex-employer, and Stephanie Hsu, who just received an Oscar nomination for Everything, Everywhere All At Once.

The Fall Guy is scheduled to be unveiled on March 1, 2024, so there are still a few months to go.
