In The Expendables 4 movie of the series, Sylvester Stallone’s character, Barney, teamed up with Jason Statham’s character, Lee, to create a new squad for a mission in Libya.

The villains this time were a Libyan mercenary named Suarto (played by Iko Uwais) and a terrorist named Ocellot (played by Andy Garcia).

Suarto stole a dangerous nuclear weapon, which meant the Expendables had to stop him. The movie was filled with two hours of intense action, explosions, and many seeming deaths, which is typical for this series. The most shocking moment was when Barney’s plane crashed in Libya, and it looked like he died.

But, in a twist, it was revealed later that his death was fake. After a fake funeral, a mysterious character named Marsh told Lee he was off the team, and Megan Fox’s character, Gina, took over. This change was puzzling because it was never explained why they couldn’t access a secret file before Barney’s “death.”

The file revealed info about Ocellot, motivating the Expendables to go after him. The mission ended officially, but Lee had other plans, rejoining the team and tracking Gina.

When the team returned from Libya, they were ambushed and imprisoned, but Lee managed to free them, leading to the movie’s final stages.

In the movie’s climax, Suarto managed to arrange a prisoner exchange with the CIA. But here’s the twist: Marsh revealed he was actually Ocelot and set off the nuclear weapon before tossing the remote into the sea. Things got pretty weird after that.

The Expendables managed to escape, but Lee decided to stay behind to face Marsh, not knowing that Barney’s “death” was fake. It seemed like Lee was in big trouble, but suddenly, mysterious gunfire rang out, and it was none other than Barney making a dramatic return.

All of Marsh’s men were taken down, and Ocelot challenged Lee to a fistfight but got squashed by Barney’s helicopter.

The movie wrapped up with the team celebrating at a bar to the tune of Thin Lizzy’s “The Boys Are Back in Town.” While some fans might have issues with how it all ended, the conclusion set the stage for a fifth movie.

Everyone on the team survived, except for Marsh, who turned out to be the main bad guy this time. Barney’s fake death was a shocker, but it kept Jason Statham’s character right in the thick of the Expendables action.
