The Sex Education Season 4 finale will leave many fans in tears. The last episode of the hit coming-of-age series is an emotional rollercoaster, with an unexpected diversion midway through when a central character’s death leaves the former Moordale kids in sorrow.

Jean asks Maeve for dinner later in the evening. While Maeve is on time for dinner, Otis is caught in Cavendish College’s broken lift, which has been fixed for a long time.

Maeve spends time with Jean, and the latter admits she feels like a fool for believing she earned her position at Wallace. Jean emphasizes that Maeve is just as deserving of success as everyone else at Wallace. One teacher cannot determine her future.

Maeve decides to return to America after this talk. When she speaks to Otis about it, they both realize that if Maeve leaves, they can’t continue their relationship.

After sleeping together for the night, the two admit their feelings for each other and decide to stop their relationship. Maeve bids farewell to Otis, Aimee, and Isaac the next day and scatters her mother’s ashes in the sky before leaving.

Eric’s passionate Christian mother wants him to be baptized, and Eric is willing to the idea because he is also a strongly Christian. He is, however, very disappointed by his church’s conservative values, as the parish excludes members of the LGBTQ+ community.

Eric, caught between two worlds, finally finds comfort in the words of a mystery stranger (Jodie Turner-Smith), with whom he sometimes connects during the season.

Although she looks to be a homeless lady to the casual sight, her statements indicate that she is a bodily manifestation of God, traveling across the globe to comfort people in need.

“Today was just the start of a tough and long road,” she explains to Eric. I’ll be there for you each step of the way. You will change people’s thoughts and show them that I love them for who they are. This will be what you do. It will be your lifetime’s work. The stranger continues, “I made you this brilliant so that others could see in the nothingness,” making Eric cry.

Encouraged by this meaningful interaction and his pastor’s willingness to change, Eric makes a major choice about his future: he intends to become a pastor, fostering his faith while maintaining his morality.

The students at Cavendish College come together to collect money for Cal’s top surgery. Jackson runs into his father, who shoves him away. He becomes angry with his mothers for keeping his father’s identity from him.

Jackson’s mother allows him to be furious, and they are prepared to face this challenge together. Viv ends her relationship with her dominating boyfriend. On the other hand, Adam embraces his father’s efforts to improve and welcomes him back into the family.

During Jean’s radio broadcast, Jean and Joanna reconcile. Joanna explains that she is still traumatized by a sexual attack and is afraid to seek help, while Jean confesses that she suffers from post-natal depression.

Maeve allows Aimee and Isaac to explore their love. Since Aimee has not recovered from the sexual assault she suffered last year, Isaac is willing to take things slowly.

While Jean invites Joy’s father, Dan, to tell him the real story, Otis reads Maeve’s note, expressing her gratitude for everything he has done. Maeve’s work is being promoted in the United States through Goodhart Books.
