OnePlus’ First Foldable Phone: Design, Speculations, Features, And More!

After months of speculation, OnePlus has revealed that it is ready to enter the foldable market, with its first folding phone set to launch this year.

According to reports, the company may already be working on two devices, but we anticipate only one coming in 2023, most likely a bigger book-style folding phone.

Here’s what we know so far about the unannounced OnePlus folding phone.

We’ve discovered that OnePlus will employ the Find N3, which will give the phone an 8-inch inner display & a 120Hz refresh rate, similar to the Google Pixel Fold or Galaxy Z Fold 4, but in a little bigger shape.

Given the Oppo Find N2’s alleged basis, we may expect some of its most outstanding features to find their way to OnePlus.

The “waterdrop” hinge, in particular, is an excellent choice for a foldable display with a less prominent crease through the center of the internal screen.

Renders depict a phone with a triple camera array placed in a circular region on the rear. The alert slider, an integral part of many OnePlus flagships, is also featured in the design.

The OnePlus Fold is expected to ship with a 4,800 mAh battery and 67W charging capabilities, less than the 5,000 mAh battery in the OnePlus 11. OxygenOS 13.1, based on Android 13, is likely to address the software area, but it is yet to be seen how OnePlus plans to add additional features for the broader canvas.

According to the images, the 32MP selfie camera will feature a punch-hole cutout in the upper left corner.

Qualcomm’s Snapdragon 8 Gen 2 is anticipated to be the chipset of choice, with up to 16GB RAM and 512GB storage.

OnePlus has the potential to shake up the foldable market in the United States, Europe, and the United Kingdom. While Samsung currently leads this field, new challengers appear left and right.

We expect Samsung and Google will encounter some much-needed competition with the release of the OnePlus foldable later this year. That may already have an impact, as rumors claim that the Galaxy Z Fold 5 may be priced lower than previous Samsung foldables.
