It’s time to head back to the strange world of Black Mirror. Charlie Brooker‘s renowned
anthology series is finally coming for a Season 6, which Netflix claims will be utterly
unpredictable.

But, of course, none of the prior seasons were without surprising moments or story twists. The season six teaser for Black Mirror provides a nuanced look at the action and reveals the show’s release date.

Black Mirror Season 6 Official Trailer

Of course, more than a two-minute trailer is needed to speculate on the kinds of twists
to come.

Still, Black Mirror veterans will recognize that ‘Loch Henry,’ which tells the story of a kidnapping that appears to have received widespread media attention, may contain elements and twists similar to previous episodes such as ‘White Bear.’ and ‘Shut Up and Dance.’

Based on this Black Mirror Season 6 trailer, we can already see plenty of implosions in
these major characters’ futures.

From psychological terrors in space to actual demonic possession, we don’t see many happy endings in our future. But we assume that’s not why we watch Black Mirror or tune in for its Season 6.

Instead, “Beyond The Sea,” starring Aaron Paul and Josh Hartnett, is filled with fear as two astronauts endure a hostile environment – which may be a simulation, as a single shot in the trailer hints.

People

Season six cast includes Aaron Paul, Ben Barnes, Danny Ramirez, Himesh Patel, Josh
Hartnett
, Kate Mara, Michael Cera, Rory Culkin, Salma Hayek Pinault, and Zazie Beetz, among many more. In addition, Black Mirror has released further details about the events in which our favorite stars will appear.

Aaron Paul cleans up some psychological drama by going to space; Annie Murphy has
her identity was stolen for a Netflix show starring Salma Hayek (no big deal, Michael Cera
assures her); paparazzo Zazie Beetz follows troubled celebrity Clara Rugaard; Paapa
Essiedu comforts Anjana Vasan as she struggles with her murderous tendencies; and
much more.

One notable distinction of this season is how it differs from previous ones. is that the
new “episodes” are referred to as five “films,” which may signal that while the new
season of Black Mirror may not have many episodes, it may become the series’ longest
series.

However, the facts about the five films also imply a self-contained story – not that earlier episodes weren’t, but movies give viewers less leeway to uncover links between them.

This isn’t the first time Black Mirror has experimented with the feature film format. Season 3’s “Hated in the Nation” episode lasted 90 minutes, but the interactive Bandersnatch has no set length but was released on Netflix as a Black Mirror feature.

It has no fixed length since it is structured like a game where the audience decides what
the main character will do at essential times in the story.
