Buck, portrayed by Oliver Stark, was hit by a bolt of lightning in the most recent episode of 9-1-1 after he prevented Chimney from getting up the ladder. This resulted in his collapsing and dangling for a few seconds by his harness before rescuing action was initiated.

Captain Bobby Nash had been in disbelief when Eddie Diaz raced up the ladder, shouting for him. Chimney and Hen Wilson went to grab a stretcher and a defibrillator to help Buck.

Chimney began CPR on Buck, whose pulse appeared to have halted. Bobby helped him onto a gurney, but Hen explained he couldn’t be shocked awake since he was in cardiogenic shock.

Buck was therefore loaded into an ambulance and sent to the hospital Buck’s headgear was laying on the ground in the episode’s last scene, which left tears in the eyes of the audience.

Oliver Stark’s role serves as one of the show’s primary characters, and a new narrative was just established for him. Buck eventually informed his family that he had donated sperm to a former roommate and his wife who were attempting to have a baby.
